Highlights of this second volume of British grime, which mixes elements of techno, drum-and-bass, reggaeton, and hardcore rap, include Doctor and Davinche's cheeky "Gotta Man?," Trimbal's jazz-inflected "They Gave an Inch" and Bear Man's frantic "Drink Bear Remix." Though the spare instrumentation and DIY sound might be an acquired taste for anyone raised on U.S. hip-hop, this furiously accelerated, dizzying mix of London street slang and West Indian patois is also free of much of the violence and misogyny of its American equivalent.
