Asian Spa features ten new age instrumentals that fuse Asian-inspired melodies with restful nature sounds like waterfalls and chirping birds. Donald Quan's compositions are largely keyboard-based, but they do feature some other Asian touches, such as the violin on "The Essence of Being" and the flutes on "Quiet Contemplation." "Euphoric Balance" and "Beauty in Nothingness" are two of the other standout tracks. Although the somewhat canned sound of the keyboards can be a little on the cheesy side, overall Asian Spa does a good job of blending its influences with contemporary sounds. ~ Heather Phares
