And, as with other acts in the "screamo" subgenre, the group's vocals, courtesy of frontman Shane Told, veer between soaring melodies and throat-shredding screams, emphasizing the moody, introspective lyrics of DISCOVERING THE WATERFRONT, the quartet's second full-length album. Here Silverstein has tightened both its songwriting skills and stop/start rhythms, making for a blisteringly potent record that places the ensemble at the front of the emo pack.
