Kiss Clublife: Summer 2000 embodies a certain time and a certain place, namely the summer 2000 vacation season in Ibiza. This album features two discs of the most popular dance tracks in the U.K. that summer, along with many tantilizing photos from Ibiza. The combined effect of the music and the images cannot be denied -- you really wish you were in Ibiza partying. There's also helpful literature about "How to Do Ibiza" that is written in a lively, fun tone of voice. Some of the featured songs on this album that are noteworthy include Darude's "Sandstorm," the "Club Mix" of Paul Van Dyk's "Tell Me Why (The Riddle)," and Freefall's "Skydive" on disc one and the B15 Project's "Girls Like Us," Madison Avenue's "Don't Call Me Baby," and the "Futureshock Instrumental" version of Moby's "Porcelain" on disc two. Actually, every song on this album was popular around the time of summer 2000 -- there is no filler. However, given the emphasis on track selection rather than DJing, the mixing isn't all that exciting, often transitioning rather abruptly. ~ Jason Birchmeier
