Ah, Southern California. The sun, the surf and the music. Led by brothers Adam and Joshua Paskowitz, Orange County's Flys are about as much a part of that scene as a group of musicians can be. The Paskowitzes come from a musical family with a history in surf music, and another brother helped found the popular Black Flys eyewear company.
Don't expect deep observations on Man and his place in the universe. HOLIDAY MAN is good-time, frisbee-on-the-beach music. The brothers Paskowitz ruminate on such subjects as sports, girls, cars and the ever-present groove laid down by bassist James Brooks and drummer Nicky Lucero. All the while, guitarist Peter Perdichizzi plays in a style somewhere between Tom Morello's metal crunch and Robbie Krieger's druggy flights. So grab your beach blanket, shades and muscle shirt, put The Flys on the boom box and party like the summer will never end.|
