Founder of legendary group the Jazz Messengers, Art Blakey rose to prominence within the genre after working with a number of notable musicians. He is presented here alongside trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, in a concert from 1982. Other notable names join the fray, including Wynton's brother Branford, all adding to the sublime jazz sounds on offer. Blakey has a well earned reputation for training some of the best players in the business, and as the Marsalis brothers pass through his ranks here, it's not hard to see why.|
