Quite similar to the second album released by the Sumner/Marr project Electronic, Bartos' own second album jettisons much of the electronic influences in favor of breezy guitar-pop indebted to New Order and Pet Shop Boys. Though the opener "Young Urban Professional" has much of the Kraftwerk sound (complete with vocoder), succeeding tracks rely on straightahead alternative pop. The results are surprisingly solid, especially for fans of New Order following Bartos after his work in Electronic. He even contributes his own vocals (with the same impassive emotion of Sumner himself) to tracks like "Sunshine" and "Call on Me." ~ John Bush
