Yes, they have bagpipes in Spain. Bagpipes are not indigenous just to Scotland but are found in nearly every country in Europe. This album features a pipe and drum ensemble from a fishing district in Spain that offers up their reedy fanfares with rhythm and verve. Although most of the disc is just pipes and drums, there is some variety to the program. The first three tracks are voice and drums only. A few later tracks serve up a mix of pipes and guitar with a lot of forward motion. The concluding cut is a convincing fandango for solo bagpipe and drum.
