A compilation of live-in-the-studio performances by Napalm Death, this collection features the innovative British grindcore ensemble playing for revered DJ John Peel, who was an early champion of the metal band. The first part of RADIO ONE presents ferocious tracks by the late-1980s version of the group, which included future Cathedral leader Lee Dorrian and Carcass guitarist Bill Steer, who seem intent on blowing the building's wiring with barrage-like tracks such as "Deceiver/Lucid Fairytale/In Extremis." The latter half of the anthology showcases the '90s incarnation of the act, a lineup that included vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway, and finds the Napalm Death sound in a relatively slower, more accessible mode, as on "My Own Worst Enemy."
