Every 10 years or so, Eric Burdon enters the studio to re-record the singles which made him famous with the Animals back in the '60s. The construction of the title of this 1988 release is a clue: these are NOT the original Animals singles you know and love. They're competent but unexceptional re-recordings.
Burdon sings well enough throughout, but the backing band is a bit perfunctory. If you're a diehard fan, this might be of interest to you, but more casual fans looking for the Animals' classic '60s singles are strongly advised to look elsewhere.
