With all the press coverage showing Ibiza as a nonstop party haven, who knew they ever stopped to unwind? Real Ibiza, Vol. 3: Chilling You Softly is proof that the party animals do stop to be fed and mellow down from the constant chaotic fun. A good, sturdy collection of downtempo and ambient tunes from some of the island's favorite producers, the third installment is very well put together, mature, and serious, with tunes mixed by Chris CoCo. Priced at a hefty 30 dollars domestic (which irons out to a little over a dollar a track), the import is most likely for the harder-pressed Ibiza fan, or for those who seek an audio bit of a tropical sunset. Though the album is not the traditional hectic Ibiza sound of trance or manic house, it does capture the sensuality and exotic nature of the Spanish island without scaring anyone off with its natural over the top party nature. ~ Diana Potts|
