Wishes

Lari White is a star waiting to illuminate the musical universe. An accomplished songwriter, Lari has a knack for writing Tin Pan Alley-type material--well-crafted songs with strong fluctuating melodies. To top it off, she has a stylish, passionate voice, and WISHES is on the brink of making White the star she should be.
With the shamelessly fun "That's My Baby" bringing her to the top of the charts, Lari now has the opportunity to display her more serious side with songs ranging from "If I'm Not Crazy Already", a dramatic reserve of pain and heartbreak, to the belting rockbeat of "Go On", with its Ronstadt-like chorus. Songs like "It's Love", which shows off a bluesy, elastic Maria Muldaur-like range, showcase Lari's command of vocally demanding material-- and Lari is up there with the best of them.
For an artist with such an acute pop sensibility, the instrumentation on WISHES is, for the most part, surprisingly traditional, utilising steel and fiddle on appropriate tunes. Lari recently married songwriter Chuck Cannon, and, judging from their six collaborations on the album, their partnership proves to be successful. Lari's WISHES, it seems, have all come true.|
