MAGNUM FORCE contains a limited edition bonus CD. Heltah Skeltah may have friends in high places (Daz Dillinger lends a hand in the production, Method Man and Tha Dogg Pound make guest appearances), but the sheer single-minded intensity of their hard-edged, iconoclastic approach speaks for itself, regardless of famous guest stars. They fall solidly into the gangsta camp, defiantly wielding hardware in the album photos and making violent threats to their potential enemies. But on MAGNUM FORCE, you get the feeling it's their natural rebelliousness and refusal to conform to the status quo that occasions Heltah Skeltah's bad-ass attitude, rather than any truly violent urge. Over simple, often primal-sounding beats and relatively primitive samples (including excerpts from Tribe Called Quest and Redman), Heltah Skeltah combines hardcore gangsta boasts with a dark sense of humor that provides valuable contrast.
