Recorded at D&D Studios, New York, New York. Personnel: Cocoa Brovaz, D. Yates Jr., Le Rock, A. Cassidy, L. Johnson, Louieville Sluggah, M. Brown, Buckshot (vocals). Recording information: Chung King Studios, N.Y., NY; D & D Studios, N.Y., NY; D & D Studios, New York, NY; Your Homes On Your Phones. Photographer: Mo' B. Before the release of their first group album, FOR THE PEOPLE, in 1997, the Boot Camp Clik had already made a name for themselves as a force to be reckoned with on the East Coast underground circuit. With now-classic efforts from the collective's many offshoots (Smif-N-Wessun's DAH SHININ, Heltah Skeltah's NOCTURNAL, and O.G.C.'s DA STORM) leading up to the release of FOR THE PEOPLE, expectations were sky-high. The Boot Camp's debut returns 10 years after its original release in the form of the Duck Down Records reissue, STILL FOR THE PEOPLE. The album's throwback opener, "Down By Law," is as infectious as ever, while Buckshot does his best to tear down every track he blesses. This is an undeniable hip-hop classics.

商品の紹介

Vibe (6-7/97, p.160) - "...These souljahs come on like a stampeding herd of impalas, with a graceful, unorchestrated flow of synchronicity and the common cause of elevating their genre from its stagnant state..." The Source (6/97, p.123) - 3.5 Mics (out of 5) - "...the Bucktown soldiers of the Boot Camp Clik have slowly but surely made advances on capturing the glorified flag of hip-hop....[T]he BCC resemble a tightly knit hierarchy with aspirations for total dominance..." Melody Maker (8/9/97, p.50) - "...gorgeously gruesome slab of NYC noir..." Rap Pages (6/97, p.86) - "...the Camp's flow sways smoothly into the ears of troopers....Musically, FOR THE PEOPLE holds the fort down with a simple array of drums and addictive lines of bass....This latest release outta the Boot Camp should be enough to hold heads down for the next few months..."
