Although the album has some clear contemporary hip-hop influences, it works because Levert hasn't lost sight of their primary strengths as a soulful vocal group. Throughout The Whole Scenario, the group works dance numbers and ballads with equal aplomb, and while the material is occasionally subpar, their performances never are. ~ Leo Stanley
