Backed by a tight and lively quartet featuring her longtime cohorts Joe Pass on guitar and Tommy Flanagan on piano, Fitzgerald sings as well as she ever has. From a saucy "Sweet Georgia Brown," featuring an astonishing scat break, to a mellow "The Man I Love," the program is flawless. Even James Taylor's soft and understated "You've Got a Friend" sounds robust and full-bodied. An excellent example of live small-combo jazz.
