Like the other volumes in the series, Air Mail Music: Traditional Instruments of Switzerland is packed with top-notch, traditional folk-oriented music from its geographical area of focus, performed by unnamed local musicians. Also like the other volumes, Traditional Instruments of Switzerland is woefully deficient on annotation -- the liner notes supply virtually no information not only on the musicians, but on the dates and locations of recording as well. That's a shame, because otherwise, this is a very good sampler, from a strictly musical standpoint; plus, there is some information about exactly what the traditional instruments alluded to in the title are. ~ Steve Huey|
