The "inspired" part of the title is what you need to pay attention to, since most of the songs here are either unheard in the film or heard only in passing (for a hint of what the movie actually sounds like, check out the two excerpts from composer Alan Silvestri's charmingly Copland-esque orchestral score). The rest is a very mixed bag, with not one but two de rigeur Diane Warren power ballads (sung, respectively, by Trisha Yearwood and Debelah Morgan), a lovely new Burt Bachrach song featuring Lyle Lovett, girl-group-pop/hip-hop from R Angles and S Club 7, and some sprightly big-band rockabilly from the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
