Showing astonishing resilience, Motown legends The Temptations followed up the surprising platinum-plus success of 1998's PHOENIX RISING with their 57th album, 2000's EAR-RESISTIBLE. Romance and intimacy are once again a powerful font of inspiration for these five voices united in blissful harmony. For EAR-RESISTIBLE the Motown icons combine with an impressive array of producers including Joe and Gerald Levert, along with the legendary Narada Michael Walden. The combination of the Tempts' 40 years of experience and the youthful musical mindset of their producers quashes any fears that this legendary group would fail to adapt to a contemporary R&B sound. Founding member Otis Williams is the creative fountainhead here, co-writing five songs, including the slow-burning "Kiss Me Like You Miss Me," future quiet storm standard "Got to Get on the Road," and the playful "Elevator Eyes." Elsewhere, the tempo picks up with "Party," a funky workout in the spirit of "I Can't Get Next to You." Wrapping it all up is the socially conscious "Error of Our Ways," a plea for peace with Wanda Vaughan of the Emotions supplying a woman's point of view.
