Artful Dodger, kings of the club circuit in England, have remixed various tracks for other artists, and have collected these efforts on the appropriately-titled RE-REWIND. Mark Hill and Pete Devereaux mix it up with elements of R&B, reggae, drum-and-bass, and breakbeat. They've worked with an impressive group of people including All Saints, Robbie Craig, and United Groove Collective. Artful Dodger UK take a slightly more pro-active approach to remixing that many of their UK garage peers: instead of time-stretching vocals, the duo usually re-record vocals for their remixes, and this pair's interest in jazz, hip-hop, and house music is reflected in their rather eccentric remixes. This collection introduces this Artful Dodger (not to be confused with the American Artful Dodger) to the United States and showcases some of the best 2-step UK garage around.
