Taking global sounds to the bedroom with real plausibility, the first in the Batucada series uniquely represented the Euro-Latin side of Mole Listening Pearls. De-Phazz, one of the label's better downtempo acts, struck slow and hard with the slinky "Downtown Tazacorte," Face & Feline gave an idea of how it would sound if the Stereo MC's came back with cocktails instead of E, and Nicola Conte's massive "Bossa Per Due" was equally Sabres of Paradise and Austin Powers.
