Things open up with the Refugee Camp All Stars's cover of Eddie Grant's 80's smash "Electric Avenue." The All Stars manage to freshen this one up with some good raps and a nice, steady groove. Next up is Barry White, the love man himself, in a fine duet with Faith Evans on "My Everything," a sweet soul ballad, both sinewy and sultry, that bears listening in those late, late hours. Other highlights include SWV's "Tell Me How You Want It" and Me'Shell Ndegeocello's lilting, airy "The Teaching," another "Quiet Storm" moment waiting to happen if there ever was one. The incomparable Mase also make an appearance, with a hip-hop cover of Kool and the Gang's classic 70's hit "Hollywood Swingin." Rounding things out are appearances from Brand Nubian and Mary J Blige. All in all, MONEY TALKS offers talent, variety and grooves in generous amounts.
