Featuring songs from writers as gifted as Rodney Crowell and Pam Tillis, the album has a rich selection of material that is alternately gritty and soulful and always powerful. Wright blesses each song with her powerful pipes, singing the songs with conviction -- even when the songs border on lightweight country-pop, she sings them as if they were pure country. The result is a terrific little album, one that makes you wonder why Wright isn't a star in America like she is in her native Canada. ~ Thom Owens
