Night Ranger's 1982 debut, DAWN PATROL, was a surprise success (albeit a moderate one)--due largely to the MTV anthem "Don't Tell Me You Love Me." But it also set the stage perfectly for the massive commercial breakthrough success of their sophomore album, MIDNIGHT MADNESS. For their second disc, the band streamlined their sound to focus more on the pop side of their songwriting, and scored bigtime with a pair of 1984's most played radio hits--the power ballad "Sister Christian," and the melodic rocker "When You Close Your Eyes." MIDNIGHT MADNESS helped make Night Ranger one of the most popular rock acts of the early-to-mid-80's.
