Its chorus has singer Paul Jago belting a Jane's Addiction-type hook with an infectious, head-bobbing melody. Polished and well-crafted, the band's songs run twelve deep on the album. Other notables are "Watching the Girl," "The First Day of Spring," and a cover of the Cyndi Lauper classic "Time after Time." This hard-rock version of the '80s hit works well for the band, offering an alternative view of a well-known candy-coated pop song.
