Combining elements of hardcore, industrial, alternative pop-rock, grindcore, and some drum-and-bass, Britain's Pitchshifter is poised to make a name for itself in the overcrowded field of hard-hitting post-Korn rock bands. With the release of DEVIANT, produced by Dave Jerden (Alice In Chains, Offspring) the band makes a forceful claim on that coveted market share. Such songs as "Keep It Clean," "Wafer Thin," and "Scene This" offer up a vibrant, energetic, and interesting mix of styles. Though the band has a wide variety of influences that span many genres, one thing remains constant in its music--creativity. Every one of the tracks on DEVIANT cuts through with a fresh edge, making it a satisfying and well-rounded album.
