The album-opening "Thinking of You" seems like a long-lost classic culled from the vaults of Al Green. "Lovin' You" is informed by Stevie Wonder's most sensuous funk, and "Top Notch" even has a bit of a psychedelic slant to it. The group continues to demonstrate its deft ability to craft sensuous ballads; "Til Last Summer" and "Holy Smokes & Gee Whiz" demonstrate a well-honed mastery of the form. Throughout, HOUSE OF MUSIC is spiked by sweet vocal harmonies and sharp guitar work.
