The sound of IN THE HOUSE OF STONE AND LIGHT is full and lushly textured. However, the lyrics are its real strength, tackling serious themes with vivid imagery. The powerful "In My Room" deals with the effect of spousal abuse on a frightened child who curses, "You will never hit her again." "The Door," which closes the album, is a stunning narrative waltz that recounts the true story of escapees from the Treblinka concentration camp during World War II. Not the usual fare for a pop album, but a rousing symbol of hope with its striking cry "I'm gonna live..."
録音 : ステレオ (Studio)
