There are many bootleg CDs available of Bill Evans, particularly from his final decade. This French release, the first of two, features Evans, bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Marty Morell playing at a concert presumably in Europe sometime in 1974. The repertoire (split between familiar originals and standards) offers no real surprises and, although the playing is fine, the recording quality is a bit erratic, making this one strictly for the more fanatical collectors. ~ Scott Yanow|
