This quiet, piano-based music features a strong electronic element and easily stands out in the New Age genre. Partners Tim Story and Hans-Joachim Roedelius (formerly of the German industrial band Cluster) bring an uncanny artistry to the compositions on this relaxing--though sometimes unsettling--ambient music. In general, these pieces feature piano and keyboards (along with some strings) and are unafraid to show disquieting moods, such the creeping dread of "Something Happened Here," the contemplative isolation on their title track, or the strange wonder of space exploration in "Under Mars We Were." At times, the duo veers off into completely experimental territory, as in the buzz of the opening measures of "Dew Climbs." As pretty, mellow, and pensive as the music can be, there is also a great deal of effort to integrate diverse electronic sounds into the mix.
