For those of a particular generation or two, GYPSY will always be inexorably linked to the larger-than-life voice and presence of Ethel Merman, but those who are coming to the show for the first time (or at least with an open mind) will find the charms of such evergreens as the lively "All I Need is the Girl" and the uber-optimistic "Everything's Coming Up Roses" difficult to resist in any context.
