Although they never quite achieved mainstream success during their time, 80's pop group Felt maintain posthumous cult status with a highly devoted legion of fans--most notably, Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch. Led by the equally charismatic Lawrence (who later went on to form the band Denim), Felt crafted heartrenderingly beautiful songs bathed in immaculate pop sensibilities on such classic albums as SPLENDOUR OF FEAR and CRUMBLING THE ANTISEPTIC BEAUTY. This collection gathers some of Felt's rarely heard gems as well as indie chart hits "Ballad of the Band" and "Primitive Painters."
