Le Noise finds Neil Young joining forces with Daniel Lanois, a producer renowned for his haunting, atmospheric recordings. Recorded at the producer's home in Silverlake, Lanois added textures to Young's solo guitar recordings, resulting in an adventurous, distinctive record. In addition to being available on CD, digital download and vinyl, there are deluxe CD/DVD and BluRay versions of Le Noise that feature black & white films of Young performing the album's eight songs.

昨年は待望のアーカイヴ・シリーズ第1弾ボックスを投下するなど話題に事欠かなかった御大。1年ぶりに届いた新作は、プロデュースをダニエル・ラノワが務めている。エレキやアコギによるシンプルな弾き語りに、全編特殊な音響処理を施した音像は、やたらとヘヴィーでスモーキー。随所に散りばめられたサイケっぽい意匠もカッコイイ、素晴らしい初顔合わせ作品に仕上がった。VIVAノイズ！
