世界で最も権威ある音楽賞とされるグラミー賞において、最多7部門でノミネートされていた“超21世紀型MC”カニエ・ウェスト。通算5枚目となるオリジナル・アルバム『My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy』と、ジェイ・Zとのコラボ作『Watch The Throne』から、“Best Rap Album”（『My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy』）、“Best Rap Performance”（「Otis」）、“Best Rap/Sung Collaboration”（「All Of The Lights」）、“Best Rap Song”（「All Of The Lights」）という4部門に輝いた。
